If a business or individual has withheld tax and wants to refund excess payments or release the amount, they might need clearance from the CRA. For instance, once a non-resident sells property in Canada, the lawyer would set aside 25% of the proceeds in a trust as withheld tax, which can be released after getting a Certificate of Compliance from the CRA through us.

How do I rebate the non-resident speculation tax?

Any non-resident who purchases a residential property in certain provinces in Canada, such as Ontario, must pay a 25% tax called the NRST. They can get a full rebate if they become a resident within four years of the closing date. Once you become eligible, we help you apply for your NRST rebate smoothly.

How long does it take to get a certificate of compliance?

Processing times to obtain clearance from the CRA vary and depend on the type of application. Generally, it can take up to four months for the CRA to issue the certificate after accepting a completed application. However, we work to get your certificate as quickly as possible.
